Completed Master Plan of Tourism development on Stara Planina
Master plan of Tourism Development with a pre-feasibility study on Stara planina has been completed, by a consortium consisting of Horwath Consulting Zagreb and Ecosign - Mountain Resort Planners from Canada, who have been chosen to produce the plan following an international public tendering procedure. Ecosign is a leading global company specialised in a mountain resort design, which has been present on all continents.
Stara Planina, located in the South-eastern Serbia, has one of the greatest potentials for the development of winter and summer leisure and special interests tourism in Serbia. The main purpose of this project, based on the professional development master plan and business plan, is to define general and tourism infrastructure investment requirements on Stara Planina and to design resorts related to localities surrounding Stara Planina. This mega project is the driver of international tourism in South-eastern Serbia, which protects and revitalises the area, as well as it stimulates the economic prosperity through the investment and employment opportunities.
The Stara planina project has now entered the second stage, which means that the implementation of the Master plan of Tourism development on Stara planina is underway.
